News/Blog Photo

Strathcona Apartments is located at 9911 85 Avenue in Old Strathcona, one of the best places in Edmonton to live.

Our low rise apartment is situated on a quiet street, only minutes from many neighbourhood hotspots. If you are new to the area, Matterhorn Investments would like to introduce you to Edmonton's favourite community.

From your apartment, you have excellent access to the Old Strathcona community. Whyte Avenue (82 Avenue) is a trendy, vibrant area that caters to many different tastes and activities! Here's a quick list of the 10 best things to do and see on Whyte Avenue.

Even if you don't own a vehicle, our neighbourhood is easy to navigate. There are transit stops, coffee shops like Tim Hortons, and several dining nooks, just a few steps from your front door. Save-on-Foods, Shoppers Drug Mart, and the Bonnie Doon Shopping Centre are a short drive or bus ride away.

The summer months are busiest for this community that celebrates year round. June and July are filled with festivals and events including the Edmonton Pride Festival, The International Jazz Festival, and Sand on Whyte. Every August the community gathers with theatergoers from around the world at the Fringe Theatre Festival. Residents of Strathcona Apartments can walk to the festival and enjoy live theatre indoors or out, great food, and of course, buskers.

As one of the trendiest neighbourhoods in Edmonton, Old Strathcona is an excellent place to shop. There are clothing shops, unique boutiques, home furnishings, bookstores, and so much more. Browse through the shops to find what you are looking for and even items you never knew you needed!

There are plenty of public schools in the area and the University of Alberta is a quick 10 minute drive or 20 minutes on transit. At the same location, you will find the University of Alberta Hospital featuring top of the line health care and a 24/7 emergency department.

Old Strathcona is a great place to enjoy a meal, relax on the patio, or get a custom cup of coffee on the go. With over 100 restaurants and a dozen patios, you are sure to find your perfect summer venue close to home. Foodies will love walking to the Old Strathcona Farmer's Market, easy access to international delights, and ingredients for all dietary needs.

At 125 years old, this neighbourhood is vibrant and loaded with possibility. If you are looking to learn more about Old Strathcona, try a Ghost Tour and have fun while you learn.

Matterhorn Investments hopes all our residents enjoy a fulfilled summer exploring our amazing community.
